Ross AlbersRoss W. Albers – Attorney


Ross W. Albers graduated from the prestigious University of Baltimore School of Law with a concentration in criminal practice. His passion for the legal system earned him an editorial position on the Law Review.

While attending law school, Ross worked as an insurance adjuster for Travelers Insurance. He was a member of the Special Liability Group and focused on high-profile cases involving asbestos, lead paint, trucking accidents, and more.

Ross also attended Bucknell University, earning a degree in Business Management. He played on Bucknell’s nationally ranked lacrosse team.

Ross W. Albers currently resides in Carroll County, Maryland with his wife Emily and their four dogs: Bing, Brooklyn, Freddie, and Henry.


After passing the bar exam, Attorney Ross W. Albers left his position as an insurance adjuster and began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office. There he prosecuted criminal, DUI, juvenile, and traffic cases in the circuit and district courts of Maryland.

Along with the State of Maryland, Ross is also barred in the United States District Court of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Association for Justice, Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, and Carroll County Bar Association.

While Ross takes on challenging cases from a broad spectrum of legal practices, he focuses on being the best at his craft in criminal defense, DUI and DWI, juvenile defense, personal injury, and medical malpractice. By focusing primarily on those sectors, he is able to stay on top of the ever-evolving Maryland laws involved with each.

Mr. Fiore is Of Counsel to the firm for its Maryland personal injury cases and possesses a wealth of trial experience, both as an advocate for persons injured by the negligence of others, and as a former defense counsel for major insurance companies. He offers his clients an aggressive but balanced perspective earned through his handling of thousands of Maryland state and federal court cases, jury trials, hearings and negotiations over the past 36 years.

Mr. Fiore is known for his ability to provide clients with compassionate and trustworthy counsel and is often commended for his accessibility, his diligence, and his proficiency in obtaining trial and settlement results that exceed his clients’ expectations.

Thomson Reuters/Baltimore Magazine has named Mr. Fiore as a Maryland Super Lawyer in the area of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Law for the past twelve consecutive years. He also carries a rating of 10 (highest available) with Avvo, a national directory ranking more than 90% of licensed attorneys in the United States.

Mr. Fiore received his law degree from The Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Providence College in Rhode Island. He is certified by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, (NITA), to teach advocacy skills, having completed NITA’s intensive professional training program at Harvard Law School in 1993.

Lauren MacariLauren Macari – Attorney

Attorney Macari received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from DeSales University and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. After receiving her degrees, she ran her own domestic firm in Baltimore County. In doing so, she gained invaluable experience in how to maneuver through complex family law cases. She offers her clients aggressive litigation inside the courtroom while also providing the support and compassion her clients need outside of the courtroom.

Since 2011, Lauren has been fighting for her clients by utilizing a wide range of legal skills and experience to get them the rights they deserve. Whether filing for divorce, fighting for custody, or filing a protective order, Lauren understands what’s at stake and she handles each case with sensitivity, skill, and dedication. Joseph is a hardworking and creative trial attorney and litigator, with a focus on family law, civil litigation, and criminal defense. Be it a domestic issue like a divorce, a child custody/support case, or Protective Order, or a criminal case such as a DUI or assault, Joseph uses a wealth of courtroom experience to zealously represent his clients in courtrooms throughout Maryland.

After law school, Joseph clerked for the Honorable Philip S. Jackson in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. During his tenure, Joseph assisted in trial during many serious felonies including 1st-degree murder, rape, assaults, and complex narcotics and firearms cases. Prior to founding Decker, Tychostup & Friedman, LLC, Joseph worked for a small, fast-paced litigation firm concentrating in domestic matters ranging from Divorce and Separation Agreements to child custody/support and Protective and Peace Orders.

Joseph understands the intricacies of domestic law and criminal defense cases and works tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome for his clients. Myles F. Friedman, Esq.Myles F. Friedman, Esq.

Myles was born and raised in Baltimore, educated in the public-school system, having graduated from City in 1956. He then attended University of Maryland College Park and went on to University of Maryland School of Law, graduating in 1963. Myles was admitted to the Maryland bar in October of 1963 and has been an active practitioner ever since. His love of the courtroom has taken him from the Eastern Shore to Western Maryland and everywhere in between. After these many years, he still enjoys being a litigator, with a primary focus on criminal defense, family law, personal injury and estate administration.

Early on in his career, Myles became an active member of both the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore County Bar Association. In 1988, Myles was elected President of the Baltimore County Bar Association and in 1993 Myles was inducted as a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation. His legal career was highlighted when he received the first J. Earle. Plumhoff Award for Professionalism, and more recently in 2016 when, on Law Day, he was honored with the Judith P. Ritchey Achievement Award.

Luke WoodsLuke Woods – Attorney

Luke is a veteran felony trial attorney. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Reed College and a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law.  After receiving his degrees, he served as a law clerk contracted with the Department of Justice for complex litigation, while serving as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in the United States Army Reserves. Since 2006, Luke has specialized in DUI and criminal defense throughout the State of Maryland, and offers a wealth of knowledge and trial experience, having litigated hundreds of cases in District, Circuit, and Juvenile Court.

Luke has extensive experience with all facets of representation in criminal defense from initial bond review through trial to sentencing, reconsideration and appeal, including preliminary hearings, competency and criminal responsibility, juvenile proceedings, waiver/transfer hearings, motions hearings, court trials, jury trials,  parole hearings, and violations of probation hearings, as well as significant experience with specialty courts such as drug court and mental health dockets.

Ashley started with Albers & Associates in May 2018. She is the firm’s Litigation Paralegal and head of Office Operations. Ashley assists attorneys in case work up from intake through trial and is extensively knowledgeable in the litigation and settlement process. Ashley prides herself in her ability to investigate facts related to her cases all while advocating endlessly for her clients.

Tammy started with Albers & Associates in February 2020. She graduated from the University of Baltimore in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Tammy has 27 years of experience in family law, criminal law and personal injury. She is the head paralegal for our Family and Domestic Law cases. She works closely and diligently with our clients to ensure that all of the cases are handled with precision and expertise. Tammy is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, American Bar Association and is a Notary Public for the State of Maryland.
