Yesterday, Attorney Ross W. Albers spoke at The Growth Solutions Team’s Profitable Business: Referred Customers lunch and learn at the Hunt Valley Country Club.

The event had over 100 people, including 30 guests of Albers & Associates.

Attendees networked with like-minded individuals and learned about generating more referrals for their business.

You’re Comfortable

Perhaps you have one or two referral partners and you’re comfortable.  But what happens if those people stop referring you business?  While it’s important to maintain your current relationship, you must always be prospecting for new strategic business relationships.

You have the Wrong Targets

You focus on low-value tasks during the day rather than spending time prospecting or providing value to your current or new referral partners.  An “emergency” client meeting or email is more important than spending part of your day working on your business.

Your Team is Disengaged

Your team doesn’t understand the importance of providing value to your referral network beyond just sending business.  Invite people to events, make connections for them, get your team excited about finding ways to help your network!

Lack of Success leads to in action

You take a couple meetings, send a few emails, but no business gets referred to you.  So, you give up.  “Networking” is a marathon, not a sprint.  It takes time.  But really it takes consistent, relentless time.  Don’t give up.
