Bio
Carleen is an Associate Attorney at Albers & Associates, where her practice focuses on trusts and estates. She brings a detailed, client-centered approach to estate planning and probate matters, with a strong background in both litigation and fiduciary responsibilities.
Before joining the firm, Carleen clerked in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for Senior Judges, where she focused on probate cases, reviewing motions, conducting legal analysis, and drafting court orders. She also briefly served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, supporting General Civil Magistrates on matters involving guardianships, trust disputes, and equity cases.
Carleen earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she was a Teaching Assistant for Sales and Leases and an active member of the Black Law Students Association. During law school, she served as a Rule 19 Student Attorney in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, where she represented clients in disputes with the IRS and Comptroller of Maryland.
Prior to law school, she graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Syracuse University. Her global perspective was shaped by international study experiences in Hong Kong and Istanbul. She also worked for several years in financial services at Macquarie Holdings, gaining insight into financial operations and regulatory compliance, skills that inform her current work in estate planning.
