A common question asked during our office’s free Maryland DUI consultation is: How much does the ignition interlock cost? As we’ve previously discussed, whether or not you must install the interlock depends on your breathalyzer results.
Remember, for a first time DWI offender, if your breathalyzer results are 0.08-0.14, then it is unlikely you will have to install the interlock. However, if your breathalyzer results are 0.15 or greater, or you refuse the breathalyzer test, then you are likely going to opt into the interlock program for one year in order to keep driving.
